We are an academically diverse group of students from the University of Rochester adopting a similar goal in life: fostering quality education in less fortunate regions. Our current focus is on rebuilding schools that were destroyed by the 2015 earthquake in Nepal, using earthquake resistant technology. From there we hope to develop innovative curricula fit for the people of the regions to adopt new styles of learning and develop skills the traditional teaching system does not promote.
The money we receive from this campaign will be used to fund the first half of our next album. It is part of Vocal Point’s mission to create music and share it with both our campus and community. As an All-female A Cappella group, we advocate the importance of pursuing college and music in college to young kids and empowering girls everywhere.
We are a competitive student-run organization that represents the University of Rochester in legal courtroom simulation tournaments throughout the country. For the first time in our organization's history, we've qualified two teams to compete at the National Championship Tournament (NCT) in Los Angeles, California. At the Opening Round Championships in mid-March, we defeated the reigning national champions, Yale University, to secure our bid to the NCT. We intend to do just the same again at UCLA, and we need your help to get us there!
Mt. Hope Family Center provides evidence-based intervention and prevention programs to more than 900 at-risk children and families annually. Each year, we find that many of the children and families we see at Mt. Hope Family Center have additional critical needs. The MHFC Emergency Fund helps to cover these basic needs in emergency situations. With your help, we can help to provide emergency resources to hundreds of families in critical need this winter.
Welcome to the UR Solar Splash crowdfunding page! We are an engineering club at the U of R raising money for the construction of a solar-powered boat, which will be raced in the international Solar Splash competition in June. Our team designs and builds every component in house to provide an unparalleled learning experience for the students involved. We hope that you will be a part of it!
The UR Cheerleading Team is ready to work and to succeed. For years, we have been preparing to attend and compete in the Reach the Beach National Competition in Ocean City, MD. Now we are good enough to compete, but we need the funds.
The Hartnett Gallery is an entirely student-run, professional art gallery at the University of Rochester that is open to the campus community and beyond. We are hoping to renovate the gallery space to comply with Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) standards, improve the sound system for multimedia installations, and generally enhance the unique on-campus gallery space that has not been refurbished since 1972.
The University of Rochester chapter of Engineers Without Borders is raising funds to develop a water filtration system for a school community within the Dominican Republic. Our goal is to work with Escuela Taller Santa Maria Josefa Rossello, the local school community, to establish a sustainable source of potable water. The students of the school need clean water to attend classes and to continue their education, in order to better their own community. Please join us in helping this wonderful community improve its standard of living and to pave their way for a better future.
UR Solar Splash (URSS) is an interdisciplinary team of undergraduates at the University of Rochester who specialize in the design, construction, and operation of solar powered racing boats. We are raising $1,500 in order to acquire the necessary testing systems, tools, and machinery that will help us build more advanced boat systems. Please join us as we compete in the 22nd annual World Championship of Intercollegiate Solar Boating!
